My Personal Bio:
HI, Welcome to Million Dollar Body!! I'm sure you already know the value of fitness and all of the benefits of good health. It adds more years to your life and more life to your years.
So, I’m Melissa, and I am 35 years young. I can't believe it, where does the time go? I am married to a wonderful guy and incredible coach, Robert, AKA Harleyguy1. We have two very active boys that LOVE to go go go. Since Robert and I have become more fit, we have the energy to keep up with our boys. We are constantly doing outdoor activities as a family. Our favorites are hiking and biking.
I am not only a mother, wife, and business owner, but I am also a Million Dollar Body Coach and a friend to many of my customers. As you read my Transformation story below, you will see that I have not always been fit. I struggled with wanting to eat all things bad for you (I still struggle with this at times.) If you need someone to keep you accountable and to help you reach your fitness goals, whether that is to lose 10 pounds or 100 pounds, I would be honored to help you get to there! Being a MDB coach has been the best thing that has happened to me in 2007. It is so rewarding to help others succeed, and I can help YOU be one of those successes. Just drop me a quick email to Melissa@GETFITANDWIN.com and by doing so you have completed step one, finding an accountability partner. I will help you find the right nutrition program for you, and explain all the fantastic aids MDB has provided for you for free. By-the-way, my coaching is FREE. MDB pays me because I am helping others get fit….TRULY AWESOME. Want to be a coach too and get paid for helping others? You do not need to be a fitness buff, just a good friend who wants to see others succeed. Click on the “Be A Coach” button to check out a video of our CEO to see if this is a fit for you. I have an incredible team and I would love it if you wanted to join me in the journey to better healthy and wealth. I love what I do and I love how I feel, thanks to Million Dollar Body!!
My Transformation Story:
I have always thought that I had a pretty typical body, not really overweight but not stick thin either. In college, I jogged to keep the pizza weight off and I continued to jog after college because I still enjoy my fair share of pizza and bubbly beverages. Then I got married and decided I wanted to cook yummy dinners for my wonderful husband. Of course my idea of great dinners consisted of lots of cheese and breads. Each night I had dinner rolls, garlic bread, or croissants, sometimes even topped with cheese. You will never guess what happened to my body…I started to see all those bread products on my hips and thighs..OH yeah and butt. Yikes, how did that happen so fast? Just one year into my marriage, and I had gained plenty of weight. I decided I better cut back on all the cheese but I also thought since I was getting older that this was just how my 29 year old married body was suppose to look. So now fast forward 2 years and I have my first beautiful baby boy and 50 pounds of baby weight attached to my body. I did try hard to lose this baby weight but I only lost about half of it. Once again chalk it up to, “that is just how my body is supposed to look after you have a baby”. So life continues on and another 3 years pass and I have my next beautiful baby boy but this time I tried not to gain as much weight (doctor’s orders), so I added 35 more pounds to my 5’3” frame. I was not happy with the way my body looked, however I was now 33 years old with two kids and didn’t think my body would ever look like it did when I was 24 and a size 4. I did however think I could stand to lose a few more pounds so I joined my local gym and did aerobics 3 times a week. It was fun and I lost a few pounds but I wasn’t watching what I was eating at all. I still loved pizza and added Mexican food to my list of favorites. I think I like these two types of food because they both have lots of cheese on them. Did I mention I love cheese! After 3 days a week in the gym I still had saddle bags on my hips but doesn’t every female who has had two children? This is just the way my body should look at 33... Right? I was complaining to my husband that I didn’t like the way I looked in a bikini and if I should even wear one. I started to think that I could look BETTER than I did. I had no definition anywhere on my body, and I wanted to look toned with some definition in my arms and abs (if possible). My husband had stopped going to the gym about six months before and had started working out at home to P90X fitness videos. He was achieving some amazing results and said I should try it too. I told him that there was no way I could do those moves that Tony does in the videos. I couldn’t even move my body one inch upward on the pull-up bar. But Robert, my husband, said that I don’t have to complete a pull up to do P90X, I can just “do my best and forget the rest“. After much encouragement I decided to take on this 90 day challenge as a 2007 new year's resolution and started my first round of P90X on January 1st, 2007. I took my before pictures (yuck) and my measurements. I was pushing play and boy was I feeling some major burn (in a good way) during Ab Ripper X just after the bicycle exercise and that is only the second move. I knew then that this was going to be a major challenge. After my first 30 days I didn’t see the scale go down but my husband told me that since muscle weighs 4x more than fat, I may not see the scale decrease but did I see some inches on my waist and hips decrease? YES I DID. I saw some real changes after only 30 days. So I was ready to continue on for 60 more days to see what my 34 year old body could do. Well guess what ladies and gentlemen, even a body that has yo-yoed in weight and had two kids, can actually have defined abs, arms and back. I could not believe that it took only 90 days of dedication to nutrition and P90X to take my typical body to one that did look like and even BETTER then when I got married 9 years before. I actually have some definition in my arms now and ABS!! Anyone, male or female, can transform their bodies into incredible shape way beyond what they thought possible with Million Dollar Body workout programs. I still can’t believe the changes from my before and after photos….ONLY 90 Days!! Thank you Robert for the continued encouragement and thank you Tony Horton for these awesome exercises in P90X. I am now active on the message boards and encouraging other moms and coach potato dads that they too can do this transformation and so can YOU!!
October 2007 ~ Million Dollar Body continues to not only transform my body but my life as well. Because of my Million Dollar Body "Thank You" checks for being a supporting coach, my husband and I were able to take a vacation to Cancun for our 10 year wedding anniversary. It was a wonderful trip. Knowing that I worked hard to get my body in shape; I felt GREAT my bikini on the beach. Thank you Million Dollar Body and also I want to thank my customers who inspire me each day with their stories of success towards a healthier life style!!!!!
December 2007 ~ I no longer workout for myself. I now workout to be an example to my boys, my MDB customers, the coaches on my team and my community. I am still so motivated by the stories they send me of their transformations and the emails that say I helped them get there. AMAZING!
One year after committing to P90X, I now mix up my workouts by adding in some Turbo Jam and Slim In 6. I also enjoy trying some of the Power 90 workouts. Each Million Dollar Body/Beachbody workout program is so different that I have them all and enjoy them all. My New Year’s Resolution for 2008 is to bring more of my MDB customers to success and turn them into coaches so that they can in turn, pass their fitness success on to others. Let’s make the USA one of the fittest countries instead of one of the most obese.
