I am 37 years of age and in Law Enforcement. I have been involved in health and fitness all of my adult and most of my pre-adult life. {I started when I was 12 with an AAU lifting team at the YMCA} I have earned Black Belts in 6 traditional Martial Arts, since starting when I was 4, and have been a Certified Instructor in 2 Israeli systems of non-conventional Combat. I am now the Training Coordinator for the local Sheriff's Office. I am also a Certified Defensive Tactics Insctructor and the Fitness Instructor for multiple agencies through our Academy.

I've put countless hours in study of Fitness and Nutrition, through the American College of Sports Medicine. I've even been given access to the Navy Seal Fitness and Nutrition manual - 2007 revision. I STILL HAVE NOT GOTTEN THE RESULTS I WANT. Now I am on a quest to change that. Follow along as I charge toward a lifelong goal TO BE AND LOOK MY PERSONAL BEST!

As you can probably tell already from this bio, I am serious about being in shape. When I find a good thing I put everything I have into it! Well,

I am getting off to a late start. I received my P90X DVDs on August 13th, 2007 but had to leave town that same day for a family medical emergency. I am starting August 27th come heck or high water! Follow along - I plan to post updates with measurements and BMI's about every month (give or take). Then at the end of my 90 days the after photos will be posted!

Man did today's Chest and Back Workout hurt! I killed it though! My rep's never broke 15 on any exercise, but I did NOT quit. I feel this is a real accomplishment, any of you who have done this workout know just how challenging it is - but it's all good. I made it through by giving it my personal best. YOU CAN TOO! Then jump headlong into the companion workout scheduled for today - Ab Ripper X (Followed by ominous echoes). Another killer - I had to stop at the Climbing the Leg crunch. It was just too much for me. I'll get it next time though - YOU CAN COUNT ON IT!! Catch ya' later!

Week 1 is now behind me and my Body Fat Percentage has dropped to 23.5 (originally 27.8) as of this morning when I got out of bed. I did Kenpo X this morning and had a really good workout. I kept up for almost all of it. The skill sets are different for me, so it took a few rep's. of each to get the coordination down. I got a great sweat and finished strong. I can't wait until next week. I am already seeing my ab's better. Next week.... I'M GONNA' CRUSH IT!!

This week kicked my butt! Not the workouts, the virus I brought home after spending most of the week doing training with Officers working in the County Jail! Unfortunately, it is just impossible to be immune to every virus that comes through such a place. From Thursday on, I just could not get any workouts in. It felt like I was living in an Aquarium without a Self Contained Underwater Breathing Apparatus. It's been miserable. I have considered doing week 2 over, but have changed my mind. My strength is still up in most areas, and the body's adaptative cycle(s) should allow me to catch up those parts that are lagging by the end of this 90 days. Here's to hopin' my theories are sound! See ya' again in another week.

Kickin' butt has never felt as good as today! I spent 4 and 1/2 years fighting in amatuer/professional Mixed Martial Arts bouts (some were cage matches) to perfect the skills I was teaching to my students. I had some incredible matches and some not so incredible. NONE of them compare to how I feel right now after doing Kenpo X. As you can tell from my Bio, I am not a huge fan of traditional martial arts. They are not BAD, they are just not my personal preference. In fact, everything I do was stolen and modified from one martial art or another; there's the proof in the puddin' (:sugar free and made with skim milk - LOL:) I am more inclined toward non-conventional CQC (Close Quarter Combat). However, the skill sets in Kenpo X are challenging enough to get my heart rate up into my zone and keep it there for the entire workout. I LOVE THAT! By the way my Body Fat hit another low this week - 21.8% Only about 12% more and one of my 4 goals is history! I won't stop there though. When it's gone, I'll make another goal to take it's place. You should do that too. If you need help defining and/or sticking to your goals, shoot me an email - that's why I'm a Coach. I am here to help! Well, time for my P90X Recovery Drink, why don't you finish a workout, grab some recovery drink and join me. You deserve it!

Last night was my first adventure with Core Synergistics. I expected it to really kick my can, but I kept up pretty well. I guess all the hard work in weeks 1-3 have paid off in ways I would not have recognized had I not tried C. S. If you're struggling, hang in there, you're gonna' surprise yourself if you keep working hard and don't give up!

Tough couple of weeks. Work schedule really made getting workouts and meals right. Had to flip and do midnights for 1 night then turn back around to my day shift in less than 24 hours - man am I glad that's all over. Look at the 30 day pic though! I have dropped a ton of fat and picked up almost as many pounds in muscle! I feel great, people at work are really starting to notice the difference. I got promoted and the guys and gals from my old shift are starting to comment about how much I've changed! It really feels good! Wanna' know more? So much has happened since my last post! My house flooded due to a broken water line. So we bought a house and moved. My new 24' x 24' garage is the new workout room! Just getting going again with the X and man have I missed it. We started a thread in the P90X Forum called the Peaceful Warriors. Lots of great people there! Please come by and see us often.
