My Personal Bio:

Hello everyone!!!! Finally got a chance to get this Bio done. I'm a 35 year old mother of 2, 15 and 4. I work as a Hematology RN at City of Hope in Duarte, CA. I work the grave yard shift with some amazing people. But, if any of you have experienced the 7pm to 7:30 am shift, you will know that there is always a lot of food, and of course food is a weakness for me, especially lumpia and pansit, yummy!!! And there is always desert after. We eat as a family would all together so it is hard to turn down the food or not bring something, in my case, sweet to eat. Since I started there I have actually gained I'd say about 15lbs putting me at 178. And if it weren't for Lauren, the hubz, I'd still be eating with the extended family. And everyone knows that when you ask a 4 year old what they'd like to eat...."MCDONALD'S" is the answer and it's the easy way out of the kitchen. I have to say that I do have an amazing hubby. He has learned to cook some really excellent dishes all low sodium and fresh. We have really begun to change our style of eating. Daniel, our 15year old, has lost some amazing weight. He is doing so well and has adapted so well to the change. It's been a little hard for Clair, the brat 4 year old, but she tries. Of course it's "Daddy if I eat2 more pieces of brocoli can I have a marshmellow...no daddy how about 1 more piece just 1 more piece and just the tree" LOL. But that a 4 year old for you. Lauren and I did the 10 day plan. It was hard for the first 2 days then I got used to it. Everyone at work, although i love them to death, kept teasing me and tempting me with empanadas, chips etc. and I have to admit there was only 1 time that I cheated and it was at a meeting that I attended for educational credits. We were falling asleep and I "just had to have a brownie to keep me awake." YA SURE!!! One of the main reason that Lauren, Daniel, and I decided to change our life styles was because both Lauren and I have high cholesterol levels, which is scary at 35 and Lauren has high blood pressure which makes him a walking time bomb for a heart attack and I DON'T WANT TO HAVE TO DO CPR ON MY HUSBAND AT 34. We both have family history of Diabetes, the silent killer....That is a scarier disease. Have you seen what that can do??? No way do I want to deal with that.
